Established by Jaynaya Winmar and Katherine Kavakos, Essential Services Australia Group’s (ESAG) purpose is to actively support Indigenous businesses and champion females within our company and supply chain providers.

Jaynaya Winmar, Founder & Managing Director

A proud Noongar/Balladong woman from Quairading in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia, Jaynaya has a strong background across the Employment and Recruitment sectors through partnerships throughout the Education and Employment across regional and remote areas within Western Australia and Victoria. Having previously worked within the recruitment industry specialising in disadvantaged cohorts across wider Australia under the employment services framework Jaynaya has been able to assist in identifying the gaps in engagement deliveries and having the ability to effectively articulate throughout the partnerships on how to actively develop these.

Jaynaya would describe herself as an expert net-worker who is always looking to assist her large network with connecting to each other to strengthen the business connections for everyone.

Katherine Kavakos, Co-Founder & Partner

Katherine has been in the commercial cleaning industry for over 30 years. She joined her father-in law’s business Skyway Group in 1990 and worked her way up to an executive role in 1997. There she perfected her strategic and business development skills and was directly responsible for Skyway’s accelerated growth, improving revenue from $300,000 to $30,000,000 turnover in five years. Katherine tendered, won and maintained many blue chip clients across iconic brands in all segments including Industrial, hospitality, corporate and government. She co-established AIA Group in 2012 and is continuing to make a difference in the industry through her innovative and forward-thinking approach to developing customer-centric client solutions. She is passionate about gender and cultural diversity, sustainability and is also a Partner in First People Property Group, an Indigenous Supply Nation registered cleaning and facilities services company. Katherine holds a Diploma of teaching from RMIT and is a member of the Directors Institute.
